Big Data Databases Native and Invasive Species
Henrique is conducting a Ph.D. in Conservation Biology by the University of Lisbon starting in 2023 within the Conservation in Socio-Ecological Systems group of cE3c. He is conducting the project "The Butterfly effect: Listing, quantifying and evaluating the distribution and impacts of invasive lepidopterans", under the supervision of César Capinha (IGOT UL), Rui Rebelo (FCUL & cE3c) and José Grosso-Silva (MHNCUP). Henrique Ph.D. project aims are: To identify, quantify and evaluate the impacts of invasive lepidopterans worldwide by: creating the database on invasive lepidopterans worldwide; analyzing patterns and drivers of species range extents; analyzing global biogeographical patterns and their drivers; assessing at a global scale the socioeconomic impacts of invasive lepidopteran species; forecasting range expansion and future impacts based on estimates of climate change and of spread rates.
