Sara Magalhães, investigadora do Centro de Ecologia, Evolução e Alterações Ambientais – cE3c e docente da Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa - FCUL, foi eleita Vice-Presidente da Sociedade Europeia de Biologia Evolutiva (ESEB). O mandato terá início em agosto de 2019 e prolonga-se até 2021.
O mandato terá oficialmente início no Congresso da ESEB, que terá lugar em Turku, na Finlândia, entre 19 e 24 de agosto de 2019. A atual líder do grupo de investigação ‘Evolutionary Ecology - EE’ do cE3c irá trabalhar com Ophelie Ponce, eleita Presidente da ESEB.
A Sociedade Europeia de Biologia Evolutiva (ESEB) reúne mais de 2000 cientistas a nível europeu e internacional e tem por objetivo dar apoio ao estudo da Evolução, através da organização de encontros científicos europeus bienais, a edição da revista científica Journal of Evolutionary Biology e a organização de várias atividades de divulgação científica, entre outras atividades.

Sara Magalhães elected Vice-President of the European Society for Evolutionary Biology (ESEB)
Sara Magalhães, Principal Investigator of Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes – cE3c and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL), was elected Vice-President of the European Society for Evolutionary Biology (ESEB). The mandate will start on August 2019 and will run until 2021.
The mandate will officially start at ESEB 2019 Congress, that will take place in Turku, Finland, between August 19-24. The current PI of the cE3c research group ‘Evolutionary Ecology - EE’ will work with Ophelie Ponce, who was elected President of ESEB.
The European Society for Evolutionary Biology (ESEB) brings together more than 2000 researchers at European and international level and aims to support the study of Evolution by organizing biennial European scientific meetings, the edition of the Journal of Evolutionary Biology and the organization of several outreach activities, among other activities.
