Margarida Almeida

Margarida Almeida is conducting a MSc in Conservation Biology by the Faculty of Sciences, Univeristy of Lisbon, starting in 2021 within the CSES and EG groups. She is conducting the project "Non-invasive genetic monitoring and population size estimation of Iberian wolf in Northwest Portugal", under the supervision of Prof. Doutor Francisco Petrucci Fonseca and Prof. Doutor Carlos Rodríguez Fernandes. This project aims to study the wolf population in a highly humanized area, in order to establish a solid reference situation for this species. This work will help understand the full extent of the impact of human infrastructures (e.g. mines) and to allow the implementation of mitigation measures in a timely manner.
