João Monteiro Carvalho is conducting a Ph.D. in Biodiversity, Genetics & Evolution (BIODIV), at the University of Lisbon starting in 2017 within the Evolutionary Genetics (EG) group of cE3c. He is conducting the project under the supervision of Vítor Sousa (cE3c).  His Ph.D. project aims are: Test and develop new tools for inferring past demographic events in populations, apply those methods to different empirical study models and contribute to the debate about single vs. parallel origin of populations adapted to particular features of the environment.
