I am a biologist with a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Presently, I am a PhD student in the Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution (BIODIV) doctoral programme at cE3c (in the Microbial Genomics and Bioinformatics group and in the Evolutionary Ecology of Microorganisms group) and at INIAV (National Institute of Agrarian and Veterinary Research). I am developing the project entitled ‘Evolutionary dynamics of bacterial genomes and microbiomes’ under the supervision of Teresa Nogueira and Francisco Dionísio. My research focuses on a functional and phylogenetic study of metagenomes, specifically addressing bacterial plasmids, using bioinformatics tools.
