André Matos is conducting a Ph.D. in Biology by the University of Saint Joseph (Macau) starting in 2022 within the Conservation in Socio-Ecological Ecosystem research group of cE3c (FCUL). He is conducting the project "Communication under changing sensory environments: Danionella translucida as a model system", under the supervision of Raquel Vasconcelos (USJ-Macau), Paulo J. Fonseca (cE3c-FCUL) and M. Clara P. Amorim (MARE-FCUL). His project aims at understanding how environmental variables such as water turbidity and acoustic noise affect vocal communication in the model organism D. translucida.
