I received a Ph.D. in Ecology and Systematica from the University of Lisbon in 1988 and I am currently leading the Evolutionary Genetics Research Group of cE3c. I am Full Professor of Genetics and Evolution at the University of Lisbon. My present interest is to apply wide-approach genomic methodologies to answer new questions in functional genomics, particularly in non-model organisms, relating evolution to ecology.
