I received a Ph.D. in Physics (Evolutionary Game Theory and Network Science) from the University of Lisbon in 2012 and I am currently working on the Communications Office of ce3c.
Both as a scientific researcher and, more recently, as a science communicator, I enjoy understanding the whys of things. I am passionate about the challenge of communicating them in to different publics, in a way that is simultaneously engaging and scientifically rigorous.
As a scientific researcher my research focused on the impact of population structure on the emergence and evolution of cooperation between individuals. Between 2013 and 2014 I pursued a postdoc at the University of Aveiro in the same research area.
I have recently decided to devote myself entirely to science communication, area in which I have a Master by the New University of Lisbon. In 2014 I won the Portuguese edition of Famelab ( http://www.famelab.pt ) – an international science communication contest – and I had the honor and responsibility of representing Portugal in the International Final in the Cheltenham Science Festival (United Kingdom). In 2015 I had the honour of being a member of the jury of Famelab Portugal.
From September 2014 to September 2015 I have worked at the Scientific Culture and Outreach Unit of the Pavilion of Knowledge - Ciência Viva, where I was responsible for several science communication projects.
