Evolutionary Genetics - EG
Eco-Evo-Devo

Guilherme Atencio

Post-Doc Researcher

I received a Ph.D. in Zoology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 2020 and I am currently working in the Evolutionary Genetics group of cE3c. My research focuses on patterns and processes underlying phenotypic variation diversity and phenotypic plasticity.
For many years I have been involved in grassland conservation research using lepidoptera as model system.

My current research is driven by two overarching objectives: 1) investigate the genetic basis of phenotypic heterogeneity and plasticity, including the origin and role of novel genes; 2) in the context of climate change, understand the role of multifactorial environmental information on plasticity and adaptation.
