I gratuated in Biology, with specialization in Molecular Biology and Genetics, from the Faculty of Sciences University of Lisbon. I received my Master Degree in Biotechnology from Instituto Superior Técnico in 2018, where I studied the clonal variation of pathogenic bacteria from the Burkholderia Cepacia Complex, occurring after long-term incubation in specific hostile environments known to lead to infection scenarios.
Currently I am a Grant Researcher within the project "COMPCON: Competition under (niche) construction" (2017, 2022), under the supervision of Sara Magalhães of the MITE2: Multidisciplinary Investigation Targetting Ecology and Evolution Subgroup, within the Evolutionary Ecology Group of cE3c. Here I will be performing Molecular Biology and Genetic-related tasks and Bioinformatic Genome analysis, while also providing technical support to other experiments in the laboratory.
In the future, one of my goals will be to take a PhD focusing of Genetic Analysis, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, applied to my main research areas of interest, which include Plant Biology, Ecology, Microbiology and Evolutionary Genetics.
