Maria Luís Adrião do Vale is conducting a Ph.D. in Marine Biology by the University of Southampton and University of Azores, since 2011, within the Azorean Biodiversity Group of cE3c. She is conducting the project “Influence of climate change and other impacts on rocky intertidal communities of the Azores”, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Stephen J. Hawkins (University of Southampton, School of Ocean and Earth Sciences), Prof. Dr. Ana I. Neto (University of Azores), Dr. Gustavo M. Martins (University of Azores).
Maria Vale Ph.D. project aims are: explore the responses of intertidal ecosystems to climate change, using the Azorean rocky shores as a tractable case study; detect changes in relation to climate at 3 levels - individual, assemblage and community levels.
