I received a Ph.D. in Plant Ecology from the University of Lisbon in 2010 and I am currently working in the Natural History & Systematics research group of cE3c.
I currently collaborate with the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics (IBED) from the University of Amsterdam, where I develop part of my pos doc research.
Presently working and specially interested on paleobotany in coastal paleoenvironments, and its relation to climatic changes.
Additional research interests are in ecology of riparian bryophytes and its use as indicators of environmental conditions, namely water quality and conservation status of riparian ecosystems. I am also interested in taxonomy, diversity and conservation of bryophytes (Plantae) in Portugal.
