My background in social sciences (MPhil. Development Studies, Univ. Vienna; PhD Economics, Univ. Azores, Portugal, 2015), and my personal interests have directed my research towards the interactions between social and ecological systems in a variety of research fields, including marine spatial planning, marine wildlife tourism, protected areas, sustainable mobility, climate change adaptation and transformation. As a musician, dancer and painter, I have recently developed interest in the integration of art-based and creative elements in adaptation and transformation approaches. I am part of the team of project PLACARD (www.placard-network.eu) which aims to promote dialogues for improved integration of climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. Within PLACARD my main research focus is directed towards creative ways of communicating science and facilitating dialogue e.g through the use of narratives and foresight methods.
