I completed my PhD in Ecology at the University of Lisbon in 2011. I am currently carrying out a post-doc fellowship that is centred in the movement ecology of grassland birds, investigating behavioural responses to climate and environmental changes. Using a newly developed GPS/Accelerometer/GSM technology I have been researching migration patterns, quantifying the avoidance effects caused by wind farms and linear infra-structures, habitat selection and breeding ranging behaviour.
With the development of this technology I have also been involved in several national and international collaborative research studies dealing mainly with migration ecology.
