Speciation Population Genomics Marine Mammals Humpback Dolphins

I am a Master student in Evolutionary and Developmental Biology. I am interested in many aspects of evolutionary genetics, but currently my focus is on the genomics of speciation in Humpback Dolphins (Genus Sousa). Under the supervision of Ana Rita Amaral, my research aims to shed light into the population structure within genus Sousa, investigate whether historic climatic events could explain the high pattern of differentiation observed in this genus, and identify possible candidate genes with a putative role over reproductive and local adaptation in these species of this genus.
