I received a Ph.D. in Evolutinary Biology from the University of Lisbon in 2016. Currently, I am integrated within the project “PATHOmics: Patogenómica da ferrugem do cafeeiro para descobrir mecanismos de virulência e marcadores de diagnóstico” in the CoBiG2. The main purpose of my work is to investigate the molecular basis of virulence divergence and the mechanisms underlying evolution of pathotypes in the coffee fungal Hemileia vastatrix. Therefore, using population genomic resources and data generated in previous projects, comparative genomic, genome-wide association and transcriptomic analyses I am trying to identify SNPs and/or genomic regions that can be associated to virulence profiles of coffee pathogens.
